I thought it was cool when Kenna posted on Barack Obama's presidential election and I wanted to take a minute and post on the Inauguration that took place today. I was on my way to town when it was actually going on, but we listened to it on the radio. I explained to Peyton how important this is and that he needed to remember this day, as the day when the first African-American man was sworn in as President. I am sure most of it went over his head, but he may remember some of it. This is going into the history books people! Our kids will be learning about this is their history classes, and we can say that we remember when that happened! (and feel very old when saying that) It is just like on 9/11, everyone remembers where they were, how they found out, etc. I have been taking a history class and we learned about 9/11 and it was wierd that I was learning about something, that I remember taking place! I also thought it was cool that they began the Inauguration with a prayer. It was actually more like a sermon than a prayer, but I thought about how lucky we are to have this freedom and how lucky we are to be living in this great country! I have just been feeling very patriotic lately! I didn't vote for President Obama, but I hope that he will have what it takes to turn our economy around and help makes this country great!
