Easter Sunday

This little kiddo just melts my heart!

Landen was trying to pose like Brynn. I was taking Brynn's picture and he was posing behind me, so I snapped one of him too! Doesn't he have the cutest little face?

I was getting ready for church this morning and completely SPACED it about Easter Sunday today. I know that technically it isn't but next week in General Conference and we will not be at church. So I quickly changed my kid's church clothes for their Easter stuff. These pictures were just quick snapshots, I had planned for a more elaborate picture session, but it didn't work out. I had to take a meal to a friend before church and had to get it all prepared and ready, so I was rushing all morning. (Don't you just love the ugly dirt in the field next to our yard?Anyways, despite my lack of photography skills, they are the cutest kids I have seen! I really can't do wrong when I am taking pics of them! I sure do love em'!

Brynn's Sleep-Over

Well, the day had finally arrived for Brynn's sleep-over at Grandma and Grandpa's! And she was so excited! She just loves her girl cousins and Taylor was going to be there too, which was an extra special treat. Brynn is always asking for Taylor to come over and I have to remind her that Taylor lives too far away and that she has to wait until Taylor comes here. Shaeley and Brooklyn painted their finger nails and Grandma let them paint and they had a dress-up show. They were getting ready for bed when I picked Landen up after the movie so I snapped a quick picture!

Movie Night

I love this picture, even though I look AWFUL! I hadn't showered all day, so I did the best I could, but I look like a bug in this picture, oh well!
We saw Jake and Skyler at the movies, so they sat with us...I thought this was a kid movie???

Friday, Brynn was going to stay-the-night with her girl cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house. She was so excited. She mistakenly told Landen that he was going too, so when Tyler was getting ready to take her over, Landen had his shoes on and was ready to go too. His little heart was broken when he realized that he was not invited. When Tyler dropped Brynn off, I guess he told his parents what had happened, and shortly after Richard called and said to bring Landen over for a little bit. Tyler was going camping with the Young Men, so it was just going to be Peyton and I. I decided to take Peyton on a movie date, just him and I. We had so much fun! The movie was soooo good! I liked it so much I took Brynn and Landen to see it the next day for the matinee. I loved having that time to spend with him. Tyler and I alway say that we are going to start having more one-on-one time with the kids but we never do it. We are definately going to start now! Peyton told me all kinds of stories about school and his friends, it was great! It seems like I am always so busy with the younger kids, that I never get a chance to do something with Peyt. But this is going to be a new tradition!

Cattle Branding-Warning: This post is not for the animal lovers out there!

The boys got in on the action

Yeah, you don't want to know what that is...let's just say the boy cows will be "mooing" a little bit differently. I got that thrown on me a couple of times by Lee...nice.

Dallin and Jennifer's boy ( I am horrible at names, Riley I think?)

Another one of Dallin and Jennifer's boys

The girls were done after awhile and wanted to play in the house.

Cute little cowboys!
Lee went out to give Tyler his cowboy hat...it made for better pictures!

This year for Spring Break we just stayed close to home. We were really excited to get invited to Lee and Shanna's and help with cattle branding. You would think that my kids were going to Disney World, with the amount of excitment they showed when they knew we were going out to their house. It is so nice where they live. They pretty much live out in the middle of nowhere and the kids can just play and not have to worry about getting on a road and in a ditch or anything. We had lunch and then the guys headed out to round up the cattle into a corral. Tyler was able to help. It was really exciting to watch. They had to rope the calves and pull them out of the herd. And man, would those mamma cows get mad! Lee was really nice to try and include us in all the activities. He asked me if I wanted to rope and I said "No way." I have a hard enough time trying to ride a horse, much less trying to rope too. Tyler and I did go on a little ride after the branding was done. Tyler was enlisted as one of the "cowboys" who had to rope the calves. For his first time he did pretty good, I think he actually pulled in a couple of cows. Peyton helped hold the calves down and also sprayed iodine on them. I even helped give a couple of the calves a shot. Brynn stood in the pin and wasn't scared in the least bit. She and Landen almost got trampled a couple of times and it kind of made me nervous. But the kids and Tyler and I had a blast. It was fun hanging out with everyone and enjoying the great outdoors. The kids were sunburned before the day was done and even though we smelled of dirt, dust, and burnt cow hair afterwards...it was still a ton of fun!
