Easy Bake

Brynn's biggest fan

Brynn got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas and she has loved it. We have made brownies and sugar cookies in this oven and they were delicious. Brynn loves to cook and she loves to help me in the kitchen when she can. Hopefully she will turn into a better cook than her mom! She is so cute and will even let Landen take a turn stirring her desserts. Landen will go into the pantry and grab a box of brownies and bring them to me and say "Binn (Brynn) bow-nies." He wants her to make him some brownies!

Projects!

I still have to find some more items to put on my tray

Love this lamp!

I don't know what it is, but when the Christmas holidays are over, I am ready to work on our house. We have been in our house for about three years and we still have projects that we have been wanting to get done. And now we are finally getting them done! Tyler is such a hard worker and he gets stir-crazy when it is cold outside and not much to do. So we have been busy working on odds and ends. My awesome sister-in-law has a vinyll cutting machine and luckily she had me for Christmas and she had a lot of cute vinyll sayings cut out for me, and I LOVED them!(she cut out the Landry room saying, the "Kitchen" saying and I have a "welcome saying on my door, but no picture of that) I painted my laundry room, green...yes, green! And its AWESOME! Tyler built me a great counter to put on top of our front loaders, so I can fold our clothes and leave them in the laundry room. No more having clothes left on our bed! So it has been great! We painted a wall in our kitchen red and I love it and Tyler put our molding on top of our cabinets (which has been waiting to be done for three years). Tyler built our entertainment center for our T.V, so no more dusty cords being seen by anyone who comes over! My great friend, Ericka has been an awesome help too. We went thrift store shopping and found a chandelier. She has the best ideas. She has a blog if anyone wants to check it out http://ericka-designsense.blogspot.com She will come to your house and help you with anything. Tyler painted the chandelier and had hung it while we were gone to Florida from Christmas vacation. It turned out so cute. And then bench at the end of Brynn's bed was an old coffee table, that Kristen and I found at a thrift store and we painted it and Tyler covered it and made it into a cute little bench she can sit on and put on her shoes. I found the lamp at a thrift store with Arriann and painted it blue and I love it in my front room! I had wanted to incorporate that blue color in my front room and Ericka helped me do it, She is amazing! We painted our planter shelf a dark brown to give the room some contrast. I put my Grandma's painting up there with a couple of nick-nacks and it turned out cute. So we have been busy, so busy in fact that I have been neglecting my school work and I am now officially behind and trying to play catch up!

Nemo Fettish!

This is the blank stare he has while watching "Mee-mo"

I just had to post this about Landen, so that he will know how much he drove me CRAZY with Nemo. Everyday as soon as he gets up he wants "Mee-mo." And then he will take a little break and want it on again. And then again after his nap and then again after dinner...you get the picture. He can never sit still long enough to watch the whole thing, but it is still background noise I hear ALL day! I think that Brynn and him can quote the whole movie. It is so cute though to hear him giggle at certain parts. He loves the little sea turtles and will laugh and laugh when that part comes on. I had to limit his "Mee-mo" to just turning it on two times a day. When he goes to bed at night he always asks for a "tiss." He loves his mom and is my only child that has wanted me over his dad! This little boy is getting so big and is growing so fast! We sure love him!

Game Night

Kay, so I am trying to do better with taking pictures and documenting our lives for our journal, but sometimes I fall short. I didn't get any pictures taken during out game night but I still wanted to document it. We had the Mallory's, Edgar's, and Silcock's over for dinner and game night. It was a lot of fun. I LOVE playing games and I could do it all the time if it were possible. Travis kicked our trash in Scattergories and Wade won in Apples to Apples. Anyways it was a fun night, we didn't get into TOO many fights and when every left we were all still friends, so that is definitely a bonus!

Cleaning

There is not a better sight to me than my kids and I working together. The other night, I had all the kids helping out with chores and things around the house. I was having company the next day, which was a last minute decision and enlisted the help of my three kiddos. Brynn actually calls it her "homework." When Peyton gets home from school he has a few chores he has to complete before he can play his Playstation. And Brynn is always eager to do her "homwork" when Peyton gets home. Peyton is actually a great help and he shows Brynn how to correctly clean a mirror and dust her dresser. Landen was armed with a wet rag and he wiped walls and chairs. And then I gave him a Clorox wipe and he wiped all the light switches and door knobs. It is so nice now that my kids are getting older, to have them help me. Does this sound like extreme child labor? :)
( I didn't get any pictures of Landen, but he DID help!)

A Tribute to Rachel

This last week, we lost a sweet and determined little girl. Our neighbor and friends lost their little daughter. I have posted about my friend Emy, and the trials her and her family have gone through. They are all great examples to us and we are so happy to have them in our lives. Tyler and I had the opportunity to have Rachel and her sister, Rebecca in our primary class a couple of years ago. They are the sweetest girls and will give you the biggest smiles. The day Rachel passed away the whole community came together and had a candlelit vigil held in Rachel's honor. The Scouts came and gave the family a rose while the whole group sang "I am a Child of God" and "Families Can Be Together Forever." I just had chills while everyone was singing. I was thinking how wonderful it is to live in this community. It was very sweet. I think the family enjoyed it and I thought it was very fitting for such a sweet little girl. We are all better people for knowing Rachel and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to be know her.
