Brynn's Spring Party

Mya was perfectly happy sitting on this chair and eating a WHOLE box of Mike & Ike's (spelling?)

Kristen had asked me if I would help her with the girl's Spring class parties, so Landen, Mya, and I was able to be a part of her class party. Kristen and Cinda had some cute activities and treats. I just helped supervise. I have missed helping out at the school with my kid's activities since student teaching. I just love to see them in their element. Brynn is always so proud of Landen and Mya. She always lets Landen help her with her activities and makes sure he sits by her at her desk. She is so cute with them. She always wants them to feel included.

Mya's First Haircut

I have to say that this event took place a lot sooner than my first daughter's. Mya was beginning to grow a "mullet" so I knew it was time to get a little trim before we headed out to Florida. She actually sat really well and she was the cutest little 15 month-old with a new haircut I have ever seen!

I finished up my student teaching the week before Spring Break. It was a 12 week assignment and I was able to work with Mrs. Young at the high school. After Christmas break I was dreading having to start my student teaching. I did not want to do all the hard work and leave my kids every day. This was the hardest most rewarding thing I have done throughout my educational endeavors. I had so many days I just broke down and cried because I could not get everything done. I would come home after school and just want to spend time with my kids, but I would also have to make time for my school assignments that I had to complete during student teaching. It was a hectic and crazy time in all of our lives. There were weeks with sick kids and I had to make other babysitting arrangements and getting my kids to their activities during the day was a nightmare. Some days I would drop my kids off at the babysitters crying and I would leave them crying as well. ( I was an emotional wreck, as you can see) We all survived though. I had so much fun working with Mrs. Young, the school staff, and the students. I cried for my last two days every time I thought about leaving and not coming back. One class walked in at the beginning of class and both Pam and I were crying and they just looked at us like we were crazy and told us we were too. Mrs Young had ordered me two cakes (one for "A" day and one for "B" day) we had a party both days with my classes and I have been forever changed because of this experience. Pam and I had so much fun working together and those kids taught me so much. There were so many days I wanted to pull my hair out because the kids were being so obnoxious but I wouldn't have traded them for anything. I know I will be a better educator because of what I learned during my student teaching and I am so grateful for the opportunity of being able to do it. ( I just realized that I didn't get any pictures of my "B" day history class, so I will have to get them)

Sweet Moments

I love walking in on my kids playing so nice. I did not have to initiate this "moment," the kids just took it upon themselves to play together. I love moments like these when your kids are making their own memories. The "niceness" didn't last too long, but it was great while it lasted! I love how they even found a way to include Mya, by giving her cards to hold...so sweet!

Savanna had borrowed my camera and I found this picture as I was downloading pictures for the blog. It made me smile and I had to put it in. I love this little man!

Young Women Trip to Utah!

There was a weekend back in February that we took all of our young women to Utah. We had such a great time. We left right after school on Friday and we met in the General Young Women office building. Sister Beck, who is a member of the board met us Friday night and gave a tour of the building. It was so neat to be in the same places our church leaders meet in every day. After that we were able to go into the room the General Young Women presidency and board members meet in every week. The girls sat around the table, said the Young Women theme, and Sister Beck spoke with them some more. We then we up to Sister Dalton's (the General Young Women's president) office. The girls were able to sit at her desk and her window had the most amazing view of the Salt Lake Temple. It was such a great experience. We ate at Sizzler and after a detour through the Salt Lake airport (it was not planned!) we arrived at our hotel. We stayed at the hotel that has an indoor water slide and pool.
We spent Saturday on temple square. We watched the Joseph Smith movie, toured the Church History Museum, had a scavenger hunt in the Genealogy building, and just walked around the square. That afternoon we went to the hotel and let the girls swim and just hang out.
We were able to stay another night and on Sunday morning we were able to attend a live session of Music and the Spoken word. That was such a neat experience. The music was so great. And after, the Bishop's cousin (who sings in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir) spoke to the girls and told us a few experiences he has experienced while singing with the choir. This trip was a great testimony builder and we all had such a great time as a church group.

Fun in the Tub

These pictures are about three months overdue. Just wanted to get some pics of my little baby in the tub. She is the cutest little thing. She certainly keeps us on our toes! We are loving every minute. Her sister and brothers adore her and she has her momma and daddy wrapped around her fingers.
