There was a weekend back in February that we took all of our young women to Utah. We had such a great time. We left right after school on Friday and we met in the General Young Women office building. Sister Beck, who is a member of the board met us Friday night and gave a tour of the building. It was so neat to be in the same places our church leaders meet in every day. After that we were able to go into the room the General Young Women presidency and board members meet in every week. The girls sat around the table, said the Young Women theme, and Sister Beck spoke with them some more. We then we up to Sister Dalton's (the General Young Women's president) office. The girls were able to sit at her desk and her window had the most amazing view of the Salt Lake Temple. It was such a great experience. We ate at Sizzler and after a detour through the Salt Lake airport (it was not planned!) we arrived at our hotel. We stayed at the hotel that has an indoor water slide and pool.
We spent Saturday on temple square. We watched the Joseph Smith movie, toured the Church History Museum, had a scavenger hunt in the Genealogy building, and just walked around the square. That afternoon we went to the hotel and let the girls swim and just hang out.
We were able to stay another night and on Sunday morning we were able to attend a live session of Music and the Spoken word. That was such a neat experience. The music was so great. And after, the Bishop's cousin (who sings in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir) spoke to the girls and told us a few experiences he has experienced while singing with the choir. This trip was a great testimony builder and we all had such a great time as a church group.
