New Year's Eve

Tyler with our friend, Jamie

Brynn was our official "timer"

Even with his injury, Sting Ray couldn't resist playing Rock Band

For New Year's Eve the whole fam gets together for a barbecue. This year Aunt Gwynn hosted at her house. We ate awesome food and then we played Taboo. After Taboo Peyton actually talked Uncle Ray into playing kick-the-cans. So U. Ray enlisted everyone to play. We had so much fun! People were climbing trees, hiding under trucks, and putting their "sneak" on to try and kick-the-cans. We hadn't played in so long, I forgot how much fun this game is. I think the last time we played I was pregnant with Peyton and we were at my mom's house and I was hiding in the bushes and all of a sudden I see this huge dark form leaping off the roof of my house! I was laughing so hard and guess who it ends up being? Tyler!! Anyways, the game this year ended with an injury. I was hiding close to the can, so I witnessed it. Uncle Ray was running for the can because he was about to get caught and all of a sudden he starts yelling that something had bit him! He is limping and screaming in pain, so we immediately think a snake had bit him. So I start yelling for my kids hoping that they aren't hiding somewhere near. We all go in the house and look at his leg but we don't see any puncture wounds, but his leg is swelling by the second and he is in a lot of pain. After numerous phone calls he figures out that he has torn or ripped a muscle or ligament. After all the excitement we play some Rock Band. Jonathan had rented the Country Rock Band and we played that a lot. We actually missed watching the ball drop in New York by half a second. 2009 was such a great year and we received so many blessings. I hope that we can enjoy the same in 2010!

Wade's Home!

Elder Wade McCoy served with honor in the Argentina mission. He returned home in November and we were able to see him for the first time in two years! It was so good seeing him, and Peyton was really happy to see him. He hadn't changed much, just a stronger testimony! I appreciate his example!

Adam's Wedding

I LOVED her shoes!
Zach wanted to take a pretty picture with the pretty bouquet

While we were visited for the holidays were able to attend my cousin, Adam's wedding. I was so happy to be there. I am always disappointed when I miss out on a huge milestone in my families lives. I always joke (actually, threaten) my cousins, that they have a certain time frame that they can get married in and that happens to be when I visit Florida. Anyways, the temple was beautiful, the sealing was so great, and the bride (Lindsay) was gorgeous!

Christmas Day!

Landen enjoyed riding in the wagon for the Jingle Bell Run

After visiting all the family and opening all the presents on Christmas day, we met up with some of our cousins and played football and ultimate freesbie. It was so much fun. And then later that night we all met at mom's house and had a fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. Leslie set up the annual "Jingle Bell Run" with lights in milk jugs and bags lighting the way. My kids loved it! Especially Peyton, who informed me that he came in third place. After the Jingle Bell Run we had a hay ride, minus the hay. Uncle Ray and Whitney had decorated a trailor for the Christmas parade and hadn't taken it apart yet, so we used that and went around the little neighborhood singing Christmas songs. We also got to talk to Jordan who is on a mission too, which made this Christmas day just perfect!

Super Family Home Evening

This was our first time meeting little Kamber
Pam reciting Luke
Aunt Doris (who celebrated her 90th bday this last year!) reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas"

Ryan, John, Nicolas (you can't see him), and a Friend? (can't remember his name)

Aunt Glynis is an AWESOME drummer

Every year my dad's family holds a Gentry Super Family Home Evening before Christmas. We have great food, we sing Christmas songs, Pam recites the Christmas story from the book of Luke, Aunt Doris reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas," We get into groups and see who can scream their assigned Twelve days of Christmas the loudest, Aunt Glynis and Aunt Gayle play "Wipe-Out" on the piano and drums, and we get to see friends and family. When I was younger I looked forward to this night as much as I looked forward to Christmas. We would always play kick-the-cans or capture-the flag when it got dark. Peyton gets so excited and wants to know if we are going to make it to Florida in time for the Family Home Evening. Unfortunately this year, Peyton didn't make it, because he came later with Tyler. This year was fun and Brynn and Landen both sang in the microphone and Landen didn't want to give it up, he cried when we made him sit down. :)
