Our Declo football team won the State Championships this year! We were so happy and excited for our little community! It was so much fun going to the games and cheering these boys on. It was nice for me this year knowing the whole team and having taught the Seniors on the team last years during my student teaching. We went to the pep rally to send the boys off because Peyton and all of the peewee football players had a small part in the assembly. They were given shirts that said "Future Declo Football Team" or something like that and then it said "The next generation" so Coach Kidd had all of these boys come and stand in the gym with the Present football team and had some alumni football players, so they all represented the Past, Present, and Future. Peyton thought it was so cool, because the entire football team came and shook their hands. It was really neat. Members of the alumni team all introduced themselves and told about their experience playing Declo football. It was really cool. Anyways, it was a great send-off for these boys and we won State! Go Hornets!
